    What Is Counseling?

Counseling is a collaborative effort between the counselor and client. Professional counselors help clients identify goals and potential solutions to problems that cause emotional turmoil; seek to improve communication and coping skills; strengthen self-esteem; and promote behavior change and optimal mental health (ACA).

    Counseling Philosophy

Cornerstone welcomes ALL clients who are in need of counseling and consulting services. So while we specialize in serving clients who have a Christian background, we are open and trained to work with people from other cultures and worldviews.  Cornerstone counselors have received clinical training to ethically integrate Christianity into their professional counseling skills. Similarly, cultural intelligence and multicultural competence are a central part of counseling.

     Do You Take Insurance?

We do not process any insurance, but your provider might reimburse you for the services you receive here. If you need to use insurance, call your provider and ask about reimbursement. Many insurance companies will reimburse you some percentage of the money you spend on therapy. Call your insurance company to ask them how that works and if they will reimburse you for services provided by us.

FSA and HSA cards are accepted. A superbill to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement can also be provided.

    How Much Does Counseling Cost?

Cornerstone uses local market rates for a 50-minute session, which start at:

    • $35 – Graduate Intern
    • $65 – Resident Counselor
    • $145 – Licensed Professional Counselor

Pro-bono services are available though limited and are on a first-come-first-serve basis.
